How the System Works — End to End
Every warehouse operation follows this flow. The Warehouse Job Record sits at the center, connecting all the pieces together:
Typical Day-to-Day Workflow
Morning -- Inbound
- Client tells you goods are coming -- you create an ASN
- Goods arrive at the dock -- you do Receiving
- System creates Putaway Tasks -- operators move goods to bins
Afternoon -- Outbound
- Client sends orders -- you create Client Orders
- You group orders into a Wave and release it
- Operators Pick & Pack the orders
- Goods ship out the door
End of Day
- Check Billing charges for the day
- Review Reports for stock levels and activity
- Check Job Record dashboards for overall status
Before You Start
Make sure these are set up first (usually done once by a manager):
- Client accounts for each customer
- Items for each product you store
- Warehouse locations (bins) where goods are stored
- Inventory policies (rules like FIFO or FEFO)
- Rate cards (pricing for each client)
Then for each new engagement, create a Warehouse Job Record to track everything in one place.
